Formation of solar system

Formation of earth occurred nearly 5 billion years ago, means after 9 billion years from the formation of universe. So, now the question is how earth, sun, moon and other planets came to existence?

Solar Nebula - It was a rotating cloud of dust and gas containing Hydrogen and Helium created after Big Bang. Nearly 5 billion years ago a shock wave of Supernova made this nebula rotate. (Supernova emits huge amount of energy that produces shock wave.) So as this nebula began to rotate, the angular momentum made its shape like a disc. Collision and angular momentum created large bodies of dust in the outer part of nebula. But at the center of nebula due to lack of angular momentum it began to compress and nuclear fission of hydrogen and helium began. After more compression it evolved into Sun. In the outer part large dust bodies clumped together and planets were formed. (Earth was one of them.)

Formation of Moon - Moon is nearly 100 million years younger than Earth. According to giant impact hypothesis moon came to existence after impact of large body of the size Mars with Earth. Ejected material from impact became a spherical body due to its own gravity.

Eon - Eon is the time period which can be divided in Eras. How life came to existence on earth? The answer to this question is in these Eras. We are now into the 4th Eon called Phanerozoic and into the 10th Era called Cenozoic.

In the next post we'll visit all the Eras of earth's History and don't forget to ask questions or leave comments. Cheers!!

1. Big Bang - Birth of Universe

Hello,

Question - How earth came to existence?
Answer - First, I thought this should be title of the first post. But before earth came to existence there must be something present that created earth. What was it? Yes, Universe.
Then i thought why not start with the birth of universe first.

Big Bang Theory -
There are quite a few theories about how universe came to existence. But the most popular and widely accepted theory is Big Bang Theory. According to Big Bang Theory universe was created nearly 14 Billion years ago. At first, universe was in a very hot and dense state. After that it began to expand rapidly. Then the energy converted into particles like protons, neutron and electrons. Then after hundreds of years neutral atoms were formed like hydrogen, helium and lithium. And these atoms combined and formed stars, galaxies.

But how we can say that universe came to existence from Big bang?  Yes, we can't. It's just an scientific assumption based on the findings of an American astronomer Edwin Hubble. What he found out was that the Galaxies in the universe are moving away from each other or distance between them is changing with time.

It means at some point they were close enough to make their distance from each other 0 and this means nearly 14 billions years ago something happened (we call this Big bang) that threw these galaxies in different directions and they are still moving away from each other. At first even Einstein and Sir Issac Newton assumed that universe is static. But Hubble proved his thesis by measuring approximate distance of some galaxies from Earth.

There are lot of theories and explanations provided by scientist and astronomers about the birth of universe, its current state and state before big bang. I think that is lot of information to read but we need simple answers because we are not doing any thesis on creation of universe, are we? But of all these theories, the Big bang theory is widely accepted among scientists and astronomers.

But still there are more interesting things about universe to tell. I will continue where i left off here in the next post. Don't forget to ask questions or leave comments. Cheers!!

Introduction

Hello,
                              9NHCJUDYR4AW
Today we are going to start a very exciting journey. Journey from Big Bang to Modern Era. Journey from Creation of universe to the extinction of Vietnamese Javan Rhinoceros. Journey from cooling of Earth's surface to the global warming.

Step by step and together, we will explore the glorious history of Earth.
History of creation of earth to the history of first telephone call. History of first life on the earth to the history of first Aeroplane.

This blog is all about science stuff, but still i wont go far into the equations and all that. We 'll just witness the most important events in the life of earth, how they happened, how the scientist explained them, what was their effect on our life and much more.

I hope this blog answers all the questions you are having and even if its not, don't hesitate to comment your questions or suggestions.
